Dental implants are changing the way people live. They are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. The person who has lost teeth regains the ability to eat virtually anything, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved. Patients with dental implants can smile with confidence.
After four years of dental school, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons complete four or more years of hospital-based surgical residency training. The residency includes rotations through related medical fields, including internal medicine, general surgery, anesthesiology, otolaryngology, plastic surgery, emergency medicine and other medical specialty areas.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery is the specialty of dentistry that includes the diagnosis, surgical and related treatment of diseases, injury and defects involving both the functional and esthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the head, mouth, gums, jaws and neck.
Oral & Facial Surgery Center is AAAHC certified, and members of (AAMOS) the American Academy of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons.
